This Speaker Agreement ("Agreement") is entered into between the Selfmade Houston Experience, presented by Verizon (hereinafter "the Organizer"), and the individual identified below (hereinafter "the Speaker"). By signing this Agreement, both parties acknowledge and agree to the terms and conditions outlined herein.
1. SPEAKER COMMITMENT
The Speaker agrees to: • Participate in the assigned session as scheduled and arrive no later than 30 minutes before the event start time. • Deliver a presentation or discussion that is professional, relevant, and appropriate for the audience. • Notify the Organizer as soon as possible in the event of a scheduling conflict, emergency, or cancellation. • Conduct themselves in a manner consistent with the values and mission of the Selfmade Houston Experience. • Refrain from promoting competitor events, products, or services during their session without prior approval.
2. COMPENSATION & EXPENSES
The Speaker understands and agrees that participation in the Selfmade Houston Experience is voluntary and on a pro bono basis. No honorarium, speaking fee, or financial compensation will be provided. The Organizer is not responsible for travel, lodging, or any other expenses incurred by the Speaker in connection with this event.
3. MEDIA RIGHTS & INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
The Speaker grants the Organizer a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to: • Photograph and/or video record the Speaker's session, likeness, and presentation during the event. • Use, reproduce, and distribute such recordings, photos, and clips on the Selfmade HTX website, social media platforms, email communications, and future promotional materials. • Tag and/or collaborate with the Speaker's social media page(s) in pre-event, live, and post-event content. • Edit and repurpose recorded content for educational, marketing, and archival purposes. The Speaker retains ownership of their original content and intellectual property. The Organizer will not sell or license the Speaker's content to third parties without written consent.
4. CODE OF CONDUCT
The Speaker agrees to maintain a respectful, inclusive, and professional environment throughout the event. The Organizer reserves the right to remove any Speaker from the program who engages in discriminatory, harassing, or disruptive behavior without notice or compensation.
5. CANCELLATION & FORCE MAJEURE

In the event of cancellation due to circumstances beyond either party's control — including but not limited to natural disasters, public health emergencies, or venue issues — neither party shall be held liable for damages arising from such cancellation.
6. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
The Speaker agrees to hold harmless the Selfmade Houston Experience, its organizers, sponsors, partners, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising out of the Speaker's participation in the event, including but not limited to personal injury, property damage, or content-related claims.
